Self-care doesn't have to mean a full spa night. Most evenings, all you really need is ten or fifteen quiet minutes and a few small rituals that help you shift out of work mode and into rest. Here are ten simple ones you can start tonight.
1. Put your phone in another room
Even fifteen minutes without notifications gives your mind room to settle before bed.
2. Make a warm drink, slowly
Tea, warm milk, whatever you like. The point is doing it without rushing.
3. Dim the lights an hour before bed
Softer lighting is an easy cue to your body that the day is winding down.
4. Try a few minutes of deep breathing
A tool like our breathing necklace can help you build the habit, since it guides a slow inhale and exhale pattern you can follow without thinking about it.
5. Stretch instead of scroll
Five minutes of gentle stretching is often more restful than another few minutes on your phone.
6. Write down tomorrow's top three tasks
Getting them out of your head and onto paper makes it easier to actually relax.
7. Wash your face properly, not just quickly
Treat it as a small ritual rather than a chore and it starts to feel like part of winding down, not another item on the list.
8. Get warm before bed
A weighted or heated blanket set on a low, safe temperature can make the last half hour of your evening a lot more comfortable.
9. Keep your room a little cooler and darker than you think
Most people sleep better in a cooler, darker room than they're used to.
10. Pick one ritual, not all ten
You don't need to do all of these every night. Pick one or two that actually fit your life and build from there.

Good to know
These are everyday relaxation habits, not medical treatment. If you're dealing with ongoing sleep or anxiety concerns, it's worth talking to a healthcare provider.
